De-Unionize Schenectady NOW!!!

301 should accept their fate and de-unionize Schenectady now. Make an offer to GE to give all the D-rates a severance package, and then let the T-rates work as non-union workers. This is inevitable, so you might as well get something for the D-rates (not that they really deserve it). The T-rates will be happy, since they will continue working. I'm pretty sure that GE would keep the T-rate benefits as they currently are, since this would be such a good long-term benefit for GE. Yes, things may change down the road for the T-rates, but the union hasn't done much for the T-rates anyway. The only real losers in this plan are the union leaders/officers, but from what I see, many people do not have a very high opinion of them anyway.

From this website, it only seems that the D-rates always complain about the T-rates. I previously worked in Schenectady (now retired and collecting my pension) and it always seemed that the long-time employees (D-rates) were a bunch of prima-donnas who wanted to brag or complain more than they wanted to work. If you decide to deny this, then you are afraid to face reality. Look in the mirror and admit that the D-rates are part of the problem. D-rates have proposed no solution other than to get rid of all GE managers and all T-rates. Looks like D-rates heads are stuck in the sand (or other places).

I have been at GE for over 30 years. The mentality of the worker's need to change. The way the old timer thinks is "that isnt my job, or code," so I am NOT doing it. We all need to work as a team.. This is one company and you are part of the solution... The union needs to admit that change is invevitable at GE for it to be given a chance to survive. Work as a team UNION or the lights will be shut off, then where will you be? Super seniority can't help you....... I support the union, but am smart enough that they need to change as well....... The company needs to work with the union as well. I actually blame both sides, etc.........

Long time coming. Good time to clean out the garbage and reset. Would you want to own a business that so many complainers and lazy employees? If you own the business I bet you would clean house. Fresh start for both sides and hopefully one side is gone soon.

Ge would give the T’s the worse Benifit package and get rid of double time. Forced OT IF they have the work. No more paid lunches, id--ts

301 and some company guys are about to fall hard. Hope their time in bed fcking all of us was worth what’s about to happen. The ex BA is probably already crying, trying to figure out how to save his pathetic azz. There’s no stopping the freight train that’s headed straight for him, it will take down everyone around him. Everyone knows what he and the other have done and nobody is scared to talk anymore. Fck you 301, you earned what’s coming.

Many many many companies have left New York already to dump the Union. Many more will follow. GE has an unspoken agenda to slowly move away from all union loving areas.
Why wouldn't they? Unions are parasitic organizations that have become huge fat ticks.

I can see them shutting down Schenectady, getting rid of the union, and moving everything to Greenville, SC. That would be the smart move

Lol, typical D rate thinking they have more leverage than they do. Better save those big checks, you’ll need them soon.

Dont rush to do something to soon! The Feds will step in soon and there will be no need for 301 to do anything but follow instructions. Things wont look the same when they are done, and heck GE might not either in Schenectady, Couple that with the company split, and everyone may be looking for jobs, or all will be like Greenville and non-union. Patients is needed, these thinks take time, and also allow for the hacks to burry themselves even more. The games are still ongoing, and so are the charges lists. Happy Thanksgiving, it may be the last as 301 as some have known it, and all the rest think of it.
