The company is awful, but right now it suits me to be a part timer here. I lost contact with some former colleagues who were great and willing to help when I first came here. I would love to know where most people went after BN and how are they doing now?

No one deserves to work at Barnes & Noble the way it is today.
There is no appreciation here at all. So many people have quit but then we all know the company is going to close down soon. I'm leaving very soon and if you're smart, you should too!

I’m still with the company but many of have left have done well. Where I work in NYC we lost two leads to scholastics, one to Shakespeare, another manager went to FAO Schwartz. Most leave for school, other leave for other retailers for a two dollar raise which is common right now. Amazon took a lot of people in the last three months. Barnes is not the be all and the market is in your favor right now so turn over has increased, if you can do better don’t be afraid to leave but don’t feel ashamed to stay either just do what’s in your best interest.
