Yes, the higher-ups at IBM are pushing business travel again, however, most of us are finding that our customers fit the following two scenarios:

  1. They don't want visitors, especially at the beginning of cold and flu season.
  2. The folks who ARE traveling are meeting with customers one on one, and that's not too common so far.

Sorry, but meeting with clients face to face and meeting over webex to me has proven to be pretty similar in what we can accomplish with each other, and we're saving IBM LOTS of money on travel and meal expenses.

As usual, most organizations have learned to adapt and make due with virtual meetings, WFH, etc, but IBM - which laughingly touts itself as "green", is going in the completely opposite direction, because IBM is a stinking s-h-i-t-h-o-l-e.
