I always knew what I wanted to do. I never thought I wanted to do anything other than the job I loved until I came to Allstate. Now not only do I want to leave this company, but I have started to despise my job here. I think there is surprising a lot of those who after working at Allstate are trying to get out of this industry in general, thanks to everything they experience here?

1taz- you are correct about snake farm.
Former bleed blue employee lasted 24 years. Kicked out the door for being a senior adjuster and making over 80k a year. The false pretenses which they have used to eliminate so many of us senior employee's is despicable. I hope they rot in he//. Went back to the collision repair side working with all insurance companies. By far the Gecko and Flo the Ho have everyone beat in the auto claim settlement process. Even State Farm is a sh-t show right now. For all the auto qualified persons out there at least in my area 65k starting up to 90k pending experience. Not what I had planned on doing before I retire but it is working for now. And I can now F with the claims person regarding supplements and low paid claim settlements. Good luck to all.
Best time in history to look for work!
If you hate your job, how about find a new one? No better time than now, market is bumpin'!
I have almost 50 years experience here. The last 4 years I have begun to hate everything about Ailstate. Nothing makes sense - clients are treated like interruptions in one's day. Retention is dropping faster than screen doors on a submarine (quoting an agent). Management at the highest levels walk around like the emperor who has no clothes. The public has caught on - we are dying a slow death and management continues to sing Khumbaya and tell anyone within earshot that things are G-R-E-A-T .... news flash .... it's not. I used to bleed "Allstate Blue" .... now, I just bleed.
I had a similar experience to the OP. I came to Allstate from the outside after a successful career doing something I enjoyed. Joining a culture that acted on the belief that it was not possible to accomplish things I had done elsewhere, "because reasons", was demoralizing. It's a culture of inertia and wasted motion.
I'm sharing this because I've heard that part of the "diversity initiative" is to bring in more senior people from the outside. I would strongly recommend that, if you hear from an Allstate recruiter, don't return their calls.
Claims is stressful everywhere. I’ve worked for 4 different carriers and it’s nonstop calls, high volume and turnover . Do it for a few years and get out before you begins a lifer.
