If they have experience, there are plenty of other vendors in the space who pay much better. If not, it’s a great place to get started.
Unless your friend is some kind of masochist who enjoys having every aspect of their work micro-managed by incompetent control-freak managers, I would say: "He-l no!" The culture at IBM is so toxic that it will quickly start affecting your friend's mental health. Unless they absolutely can't find employment anywhere else, avoid IBM like the plague. 😏
Stay away from IBM, unless your friend is desperate looking. Tell your friend to look at One Trust, this is a growing company where compensation is good and they appreciate their employees.
With respect to your friend's choice of expertise, the answer is absolutely YES. Your friend won't find a more relevant company to join, as the biggest cybersecurity threat comes from disgruntled employees. You can get a world-class education about that here.
It depends. Would your friend face certain starvation if (s)he did NOT take this job? If so, take the job. If not, living in a car is a better choice.
Our cyber security products are awful!
Do not go to IBM... that will be the worse decision of your career.
