Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate's vaccine mandate plans

Currently hearing that once and if the OSHA mandate clears the courts that Allstate is planning for a third week of January deadline for all U.S. employees to be vaccinated and proof submitted as a condition of employment. This impacts all U.S. employees regardless of work from home/remote status. This timeframe will likely adjust if this gets hung up in the courts. Allstate has all intentions of following the mandate requirements. There are also plans to allow 2 hours paid personal time to get the vaccination for those who have not already received their vaccines. Decisions regarding booster requirements will be announced later in 2022.

If this happened it would have absolutely zero to do with science or concern about the vaccine. The vast majority of workers are completely work from home now. I can think of several political or other less well intentioned motives though

Of course Allstate is going to jump on this. 1) It starts the expected mass layoffs expected for 2022 with an excuse for no severance and layoffs and 2) there is no way Allstate absorbs these hefty fines in order to protect employee's beliefs and principles. Paying these fines would cut into Wilson's and Shapiro's bottom lines and we all know those filthy pigs haven't been paid near enough.

Seriously u people….get a life or a shot…or maybe go back to work. So stupid to argue here on this site. But I guess when all your work has been moved to India and your still pulling a check…what else are you supposed to do all day when you are clocked in.

I am comfortably retired and have grown fond holding people accountable for their harmful mistruths. But thanks for your concern.

Imagine if you put this much passion into your career, you'd be working somewhere other than Allstate...

OSHA has NOTHING to do with vaccines! They are strictly workplace safety! DO NOT give in to the fear!

yeah.. good luck with that in the middle of a labor shortage. Not only that but you can bet your a-s that other companies will be offering exemptions for their remote employees

This is obvious misinformation. The deadline for the OSHA rule is Jan 4th. If Allstate "has all intentions of following the mandate requirements", they wouldn't have said anything about requiring vaccination in the 3rd week of January.

My question to OP is, what would motivate you to post this obvious bs?

For everyone who wants to lower the risk of infecting their family, community, and co workers, get the vaccine.

For those who don't want the federal government and employers to continue subsidizing the billions in unnecessary health care costs caused by Covid hospital stays, get the vaccine.

For those who cannot get into an ICU because 96 percent of the covid patients in the ICU are unvacvinated, get the vaccine.

For those who place science over politics, get the vaccine.

Held up in court. Stop the mandates. Everyone who wants the vax, go get it.

Did you really expect them to ignore a federal mandate (if if passes)?
