Will there be any Windstream layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Windstream planned Mass layoffs included analyst, IT, Sales, Recruiters, construction and Engineering managers and Field operations in 11/2022. No 60-day notice provided to affected employees. Please review your OWBPA for a list of all organizational/divisions affected. If only your department is included on the OWBPA please ask for clarification on other departments that were affected in the Mass layoffs. Know your rights! Please read and research the WARN ACT.
What is the severance payout these days?
The financial checkup for Quarter 3 is 89% percentage points lower on YOY basis compared to they guy selling bootleg DVDs from his trunk. Reading PowerPoint felt like eating Raman without noodles or seasoning. ZAYO please heed these warnings and don’t do it unless it’s at Wholesale 100gig freebie pricing. Shuffling is happening so craft will be put out to breadline soon. Tone, Bobbi, Levert, Biggie Small, and Buddy Holly will have their management groupies at their non sold out strip mall show. Craft gonna stay away because they don’t do evangelical Holy Ghost drops on propaganda pushed by the SWPH spaceship.
There will be a a big round coming up in about two pay periods and a few small rounds here and there. This is very typical for this time of year. Budget is done and planned for. Next step execution of plan which includes restructuring teams massively.
I’m holding my laptop still waiting for call. Lil T on calls again asking about time to clear outage but silent when 3/4 of call is about out dated equipment you can’t even find on ebay. Where’s Buddy Bayer at? Ohh I guess selling 1 tearabit of free capacity. 400 gig optics are going to change the game but we still can’t get tdm voice right. We are winning awards, knocking the competition out of the park. Tell the Gundermans I’ll be over on thanksgiving. Gotta see whose more the goose than the turkey. Or maybe Lil T max and me will go hiking in the ozarks. We will survive go Windreamstreamantiichcreame
Oh man they’re making so much money they are able to roll out a brand new GPS tracking program they bought in order to make sure they’re people are safe out there!! I really hope people don’t think these executives are all depressed and sad because they took a Fortune 500 company into bankruptcy in record time. They completely work all this out, including the payments to the executives, long before they implement the plan. Same way Enron execs did. Your government allows it!! All this to say, yes, those guys make /made a ton of money. And they don’t give rank and file squat!!
Enterprise has switched to Service Cloud ticketing System. Not switching back to Remedy.
Who else uses Service Cloud.... Zayo
IP Engineering has been tasked with splitting up the network. I can't stress this enough. The only reason anyone would ever consider doing this is to sell part of the network.
Lastly, Several teams and directors have been split up to accommodate a sale.
Despite what some people think on here. Windstream is very profitable on the books after the bankruptcy. Customer retention numbers are high in comparison to the past and new sales are in some areas of the company exceeding expectations.
I attend these quarterly management meetings to see all the numbers. As much as people want to hate. Wiping out the 700 million dollar annual payments to debtors and sucking up those interest payments themselves on a company that is profitable is very attractive to Zayo or EQT Partners Digital Colony (Parent company).
TT and uncle Kenny have no say please remember Elliott is running the show. Ilec and Uniti are a package deal no one in their right mind would purchase Windstream ILec without owning assets for the market. Clec can be sold and then buyer can migrate or buy network those services reside on but things aren’t very attractive when they are basically a negative rate of return.
Layoffs will happen both ways, with selling, without selling. The broadband dollars the government doles out, only makes Uniti assets grow on Windstream work to put it in ground. But hey Judge Draino believed it was legit so why question. Software Powerhouse still buying end of life equipment.
Yes, 2022 will be the year they break up the assets. We all know they have shopped around various businesses with little success. Greed didn't work the 1st time so it's back to the table for round 2. TT and uncle Kenny need to sell the package deal and the buyers are limited. Their asking prices was TWICE what the market demands.
Like others have said we are still bleeding cash and customers. Service delivery is downsizing their teams through the end of year.
What are we? Not a software powerhouse.
We are still riddled with the overhead of TDM and the associated real estate.
Reselling SD-WAN and UCaSS just makes us another msp and nothing else.
The ILEC footprint provides local broadband for some, phone service is DEAD.
The ONLY way we stay afloat is with an investment from uncle Sam as part of the broadband infrastructure bill. Our slice of the pie will keep give us a pulse for a few more years. I'm not sure if that cash goes to UNIT or WIN?
