Humm. I still have no clue what POLS really is. I know no one who works in that group or anyone they are talking about.

Pearson's Online Learning Service (POLS) laid off all of the marketing managers and associate marketing managers today.

@ofcb+1dL9BrCZ. They've always been clueless. But they were able to hide behind record-high student enrollment numbers and a captive textbook market, where they raised prices in order to make numbers and then would parade around the Jan NSM in tuxedos.

Most were/are just miserable people. Once the internet blew things up and they actually had to perform, it's been a totally different tune.

Most clueless management should be laid off.

One thing's always assured at Pearson - there will be many boots applied to many bu--ocks in 2022, despite the incessant prattle after every canning binge that the cuts are over for now. That cycle and palaver has gone on ever since Madge left; she was the last competent leader the company had.

The Pearson vessel is a battered, unmaintained, rudderless hulk of a scow that needs only one or two good swells to scuttle it. Do yourself a favor and make a New Year's resolution to jump from the sinking scow before it pulls you under.

I don’t think the company only keeps women on staff to boost its diversity numbers. Most of the women are highly qualified and very good employees. I think men are more likely to take risks and take the package and go for better jobs at other companies instead of taking these fluff positions. Many women like the “work life balance” so they stay on

We should be upset when anyone is let go. Lots of talented, tenured people continue to be thrown into the waste bin because Pearson leadership can’t get it right.

What are EADs? I have never been able to keep up with all the acronyms...

Based on zero comments it doesn’t feel like employees were surprised or upset by the EAD’s being let go. Too bad so many good people were funneled into a non productive position. Next up VP’s
