Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

So much stress

I am satisfied with pay but I'm wondering if, for this amount of work and unrealistic expectations, I could do a lot better mentally and compensation wise somewhere else? The stress is huge and it's starting to affect my health.

They pay you less. Make you compete with your coworkers. They value money and power only. Environment is extremely stressful with many mentally unstable people in leadership.

Your health is paramount, don’t hesitate to go talk to your doctor if you are having stress related health issues. You may qualify for short term disability. If so you will be paid to take time off until you are better. The group I am in is so severely short staffed and over worked that many have taken this option!!! The do less with more mantra has been taken to new extremes, mandatory OT, working weekends, this includes salaried employees being asked to work up to an additional 8 hours per week. Usually this was just reserved for tax time and year end, but my group has implemented this for the last year and a half. The VBO just made things worse. This has resulted in a mass exodus from the department. Meaning less experienced people and more work for those of us left behind.

D-mb comment - I work for a women who works for a women who works for Abby.

Fidelity is many things but hostile to women is not one of them. There has never been a better time to be a women or minority at Fidelity.

Fidelity is becoming single gender organization. Hardly any females left. If you are female don’t apply at Fidelity. Only the owner is female rest are males in leadership with full of aggressive behavior
