I was a Regional Manager (sales and account management) at TR and I can tell you organizational structure is determined in August, rolled out in September, and effected employees are notified in November the first or second of November. It’s like forking clockwork. Every year.
I was “displaced” after 13-years. 26-weeks if severance. (Two weeks for every year of service). I applied for other internal positions but the unspoken rule is do not give any preference to “displaced” or former TR employees.
Think of working at TR like Survivor. Every year, sometimes 2 or 3 times every year, dozens of people get voted off the island. Every, Forking. Year. My advice to anyone working at TR or looking to work at TR: keep your resume current, keep a file of every e-mail where your performance is acknowledged, and develop a network of recruiters. One last thing: do not get comfortable. My biggest career mistake was happy and content in my job. That gets you nothing in the long run.
