I have seen 2 people on my LinkedIn announce their new positions (promotions) in the last few days . The one I honestly thought was on me-h, promoted into a role they have 0 experience in. The second was this person’s backfill, and also has 0 experience in their new role. Don’t tell me the attrition isn’t affecting business when garbage like this is happening. Sounds like a total p-o show.

One “promotion” I saw was a lateral move. LI understands all moves within the company as “promotions”
People promoted into roles with zero qualifications? That’s nothing new.
If they are in a supervisory position, all they need to do is to get rid of the knowledgeable person under them to cover their incompetence.
@rbl+1dJrCAIB Totally true, GP is the worst. Already seeing the impact of the talent limitations on capability to progress projects.
Oh Please - have you looked at Global Projects Group - a complete $hit $how. . . They dont know what role they want to have in the corp. The GP Staff is worthless, extremely top heavy, and still doesnt get the job done.
The reason the business hasn’t seen an impact YET is because we don’t have tons of projects yet. So if you still have one awesome person left on your team, they become the go to for every incident and can solve it. But that’s ok because there are no projects. Once you try and staff a project, you either have to live with sh-t, or you staff it with the one talented person left and then everything else will fall apart. That’s when the business will really see the impact, from the IT end at least. Projects are going to start getting real sh---y talent. And once you start down the path of technical debt, it becomes 10x more expensive to remediate.
Is that EMIT?
Po-p and cream both float to the top. At ExxonMobil.... usually po-p
