Making an all-electric version of the venerable Ford F-150 was always a risky move, given the fact that there was no guarantee that anyone would actually buy one. However, Ford CEO Jim Farley expressed confidence from the very beginning that the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning would attract a fair amount of customers, and as it turns out, that was true, as over 160,000 folks have lined up to reserve one so far. What’s particularly interesting, however, is the fact that most 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning reservations come from first-time EV buyers, the automaker has revealed.
