Rex’s Tree: Myth vs Fact

What is the full story? The real story?

Is this a tale of a man’s arboreal conquest? Was this tree forcibly planted in an unknown land and died a death of despair?

I believe its a Wx conference room table top that was apparently shaped from a single Australian or NZ tree, then sent to somewhere in Europe for fabrication then shipped to campus🤦

I vaguely remember on my first visit the tour guide showing us a $1m wooden conference table. Did I dream that?

Was Rex deemed unworthy (to be linked to EM’s / SO’s “rich” history), after his being axed (pardon the pun) from the Trump administration

There's a photo of R-r-r-rex raising his leg beside the tree.
That was probably the end of it.

Just remember - if they made the tree disappear over a weekend, they could do the same thing to your job…

Our leaders are the best and the brightest at everything to include the relocation of trees. That poor beautiful tree was domed the very minute they dug it up. The tree grew and prospered there for a reason. The reason was it was the best place for the tree to live and prosper, that is why it grew wel and large..

It's the same thing when they picked us all up and relocated us to Rex's Tombstone, a.k.a The Palace. They uprooted all of us from our homes and neighborhoods. Crammed us into an open space environment (which has failed everywhere this has been done) and we have been slowly dying as a company since. Typical arrogant, stupid, sunflower system of management that represents the past, present and future and is ki----g this once great company.

but hey, if your an executive your still rich and getting richer and all your executive colleagues keep patting themselves on the back for a job well done. "This city desert makes you feel so cold, It's got so many people but it's got no soul"

Original tree died after much money spent to keep it alive. It died before it could be placed in final location.

Replacement smaller tree installed and it eventually died too.

There were two Rex trees.

They could have left the tree where it was found, but no the arrogance of senior leaders had to move it and grab the headlines. How many trees could we have planted for $1m?

Another failure just like the overall campus concept.

I hear the wood from that tree was uncuttable and unburnable.
They dragged it out to the gulf as a fish attractor.
No more fish in that area off of Galveston.

I started with EM at the HC in 2017. They showed me the $1M tree. That thing was fu---d. Wouldn’t make decent fire wood, let alone a living tree. Was embarrassing.

It was an early attempt at Carbon Capture.
