My understanding is that some departments get Monday off instead of Friday. Nobody is losing the holiday.

December 31 is a holiday, but it comes out of the 2022 holidays, as I understand it.
Is this not so? How is the holiday being taken away from some and from who?
We were told yesterday that December 31 was no longer a holiday for our department.
But if they don't work us like dogs, the shareholders will be unhappy. Think of the shareholders.
How about when they took away American holidays such as Presidents Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, etc. due to the never disclosed industry "benchmark" (psst...competitors are all off on those days) but hey, we are a thriving, innovative, attractive, world-class employer, who needs Federal Holidays off any way?
