And the article says the Supervisor visits were never actually implemented. Typical American Girl! No follow through!
Honestly, I don't understand why they don't just have employees set up a dedicated streaming webcam facing their desk that their supervisor can just watch whenever they want to check in on what the employee is up to.
Good for Mattel! This new requirement shows how poorly people's "work from home" ethic is. Every person I talk to swears they are working harder than ever, and that's simply not true. People are saving time & money not commuting, and many are just goofing off and taking advantage of the situation. If you want to keep working from home, expect to comply with whatever demands your employer makes. You have had nearly TWO YEARS to make a suitable workspace at home. And for cripes sake, they are giving you 24 hours notice. I would further support complete surprise drop-ins, with zero notice to keep people honest. What have you got to hide? Anyone who cries "creepy" just wants to hide their own deficiencies. Grow up or hit the road.
I would love it if folks all over the country applied. let mattfail figure that out.
Yeah... you have to put a whole lot of GONE between you and an employer like this. They clearly don't want you working from home, when they demand even MORE stringent requirements for working from home than you would have AT THE OFFICE!
You certainly couldn't guarantee working from the office will be distraction-free, be in its own separate room, etc...
This needs to be fixed or the responsible leadership ousted asap.
