Thread regarding IBM layoffs

When your manager fancies your team member...

What should one do when your direct manager obviously fancies a team member and can't even stop mentioning about this person's name in topics nothing to do with this person. Talk about uncomfortablness and the high likelihood of biased treatment and performance evaluations.

I experienced this too, however, it seemed in my case the "fancied" employee also was keen on the team lead. Even though reported from multiple people, nothing happened to the two involved. As for me...I was moved out of the role I was recruited for into another role and still had to deal with the same team lead as what I saw as a punishment. I voluntarily ended up leaving the company......

Working in the office is just like a soap opera, never again.
WFH is now the de-facto standard like it or not.

This is the world we live in...........haha! everyone should make the same amount of money, all get the same promotions. Every manager has favorites and usually they are to top performers.

Seems to me like you need a new manager. Is your co-worker aware of your manger’s behavior? In a good company I’d say contact HR, but they’re only in the business to take care of IBM and not its employees.

Time to take a job somewhere else. IBM is sh-t company to work for. The likelihood to be laid off is 100%, it is just a question of time.
