Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

So how long will it be before WFH ends for hubs?

Returning for five days a month for now. When will it be 4 weeks a month? You know they want us all under their watchful eyes.

they announced claims going back in November....
knowing how little they planned last time when they hid the fact someone was positive on the same building and they hid it until it came out on yammer then decided to send people home a week later ... after all had been exposed i expect utter disaster when we go back

I wonder how long the leases for Carvana are? I don't think Hybrid will end until at least that point.

Agree they will change when the labor market does. They are only letting folks wfh because of the market right now.

@5qjf+1d8zQXQn Thankfully people wear gloves, wash their hands and a lot of customers are vaccinated and do the same.

I’ve seen grown men at SF leave a stall not washing their hands after dropping a load on numerous occasions.

You’re comparing retail desperation to a company the can assist in lowering the delta curve. Most people order from pick up or delivery.

I’m happy I’m leaving this company as employees now compare themselves to retail and fast food joints.

You all are such crybabies, talking about it isn’t safe. Healthcare workers, retail workers, and food service workers are going into their workplaces every single day. There is no WFH for them. Stop crying about having to go into the building 5 days a month!

The labor market is favorable to employees. SF knows if they are too aggressive forcing people back in that their best employees will leave for WFH jobs. If they do force people to come back to the office every day it won't be until the labor market shifts and jobs are scarce again.

There are ways to stay out of office longer despite whatever decision the company makes. Prioritize your mental and physical health first. Utilize the benefits that are available to you.

Sure, we all have choices, including having groceries delivered if we don't want to risk the grocery store. It is a very different thing, however, to be forced to return to the office and sit next to you after you chose to sit among thousands at a game or a concert without being vaccinated.

wfh is the future for the techncial positions needed by sf. we're stuck in the wrong mindset if wfh isn't continued.

My expectation is that none of us should have to go back until it is safe for all of us. Right now it isn't safe even if you take all precautions and SF certainly isn't doing that if they aren't compelling vaccination first.

If you’re expectation is that wfh or even hybrid will continue indefinitely you are going to be disappointed. After all, you can tune in any football game and find a 100,000 people in the stands. Not to mention full restaurants and bars, and retail.Hybrid starts next month and full return to office likely by early 22. The ongoing debate on 12 is not hybrid or RTO but rather mandatory vaccine or not. Fully vaccinated does not eliminate transmission but it does substantially reduce severity which translates into less time off and less medical expense/cost.

I'm guessing that the brain trust has done some analyzing and determined how many of us will contract covid or take it home to our loved ones as a result of being forced to congregate in the office. So how many covid cases is acceptable, especially when the benefits of being in-office are nebulous at best. This is another example of SF doing what is best for SF, at our expense. I know this is nothing new, but this time the price could literally be our life or the life of someone we love. For what?
