So when it’s my time to leave the company due to the mandate that’s sure to come will I be able to keep my vested pension? I plan to let them walk me out and as I only have a little over 20 years can’t retire yet. No I’m not bitter it’s their company and they can do what they want.

We're in crisis care status in my state. It's because people refused to get the vaccine. 98% in the ICU are unvaxed. The other 2% are people over 80. No one is forcing you to get a vaccine. You don't have to get the shot and companies aren't required to employ you and put other employees and customers at risk.
Personally I'm so tired of putting up with people whining about their freedoms being taken away. What a bunch of BS! What happened to caring about other people? It's so incredibly selfish...it just makes me sick.

If youre fully vested you can take your pension and roll it over to an ira. Or you can cash it and take the penalty for early withdrawal. Or i believe, if youre 55 you can cash it without penalty due to certain circumstances. Your choice. Better yet, wait out the stupid mandate. Dont care if anyones vaccinated or not. Do whichever you choose but dont let this shithole company scare you away for what might come. They want you vaccinated but dont give 2 sh--s whether they send you to a customer thats not, or that actually has covid. Wait them out.

Done. According to the email this week the highest group of unvaccinated are front line workers. The company wants to contract everything anyway. Start a one man contracting company, lease on with them. The job market for outside techs and their skills are a lot more sought after than most would believe.

Your ignorance is showing when you talk about the length of time for a Vaccine to be trusted. Take your first (longest) vaccine development. Yellow Fever Vaccine was attempted in 1912 and failed. Over the course of time the vaccine became more potent. 1912 bio technology is not comparable to 2021 tech. So the unvaccinated is going to wait 35 years before taking in the vaccine based on vaccine development in 1912. If the COVID doesn't go away; you'll all be running for the vaccine no matter the amount of years it's been out.

You need to pull up the pension plan rules for the one you fall under since there are several different plans. If you're vested, you can't lose that benefit but if you're not pension eligible under the plan's rules when you leave, you may not be able to take a lump sum or get any benefit until you reach the plan's retirement age.
