Too many people are leaving, whether it's through layoffs, cuts, or attrition. I don't think Allstate management realizes just how much trouble they'll have attracting decent talent when they realize that a major hiring drive is necessary. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes when that happens.

Working for Allstate is a nightmare under current leadership
Do the absolute bare minimum in claims . Allstate caused this when they fired and laid off half the claims adjusters last November. This is not our fault. Why are we burdened with long hours and working weekends . No vision at all within leadership here. No work life balance for over a year . Adjusters are taking stress related time off .
You don't take negative messages to T Dub and live to tell.
Word on the street is that the record attrition isn’t even making it to Tom’s desk. How is that possible!?!?
This is what a company looks like with absolutely no leadership. Sad to see the gradual implosion of what was a great company.
Only time in my life I’ve ever done the bare minimum but I must say it’s been quite nice!
On my own terms, I’m out in about 200 workings days but who’s counting! Haha ! Hoping for a layoff before then with severance. I would stay if it got better but like everyone on this board knows it’s not about the little people. Get out folks Make a plan and leave before you become a more negative person in your work life. .
In my ten years in auto claims this is the definitely the lowest in terms of morale . They’re giving us overtime pay , but honestly the quadruple workload we’ve been given is just too much . 12 hour days are the norm in my unit . Angry customers , agents and shops are an every day norm . We’re backed up about 1-2 months on some inspections sitting at towyards or shops because they’re tired of sending in photos and refuse to do virtual assist inspections.
Here’s the deal folks. The people mentioned and include Williams an Guy Hill in that group, could care less. They are all old enough to retire or move on to another company but will keep collecting their paycheck until the time comes. Look at the Lacher and LaNeve days. We all thought those were the darkest days, and those two boys ended up on their feet. So did Shapiro after Liberty Mutual. The darkest days of an almost 90 year company are upon you.
Those that are infinitely disappointed or disgusted with their own situation need to stop griping and find a way to move on down the road. Cause it ain’t going to get better or going to change. It’s been almost 18 months since the layoffs of 2020 were announced. Nothing has changed since that fateful day. Yet some people think it will get better. Not a chance
Well if you choose to work for someone and make them rich all your life while you scape by this is what happens
A company is only as good as it leader! Do we need to get any further….
This company is definitely transforming and will continue to transform into God knows what. They are not telling the end game. They act like they are making it up as they go along. Terrible leadership. The more they offshore the worse it gets. The more they po-p on people the more they will leave. I am looking for a way out before I go crazy. So many people on mental disability leave too. Turning tables on Allsnake is name of the game for them. Others are loyal but have not had loyalty shown back to them. Very little if you are really being honest. Allstate needs to succeed but not at this cost. Managers need to stop what they’re doing and do some claims. Glenn needs to get on the phones. Another wack of unnecessary management level needs to happen. I vote for good transformation and gain sharing. Not just 401K deposit. All should be getting 1K or more in gainsharing at years end. Banquet dinners for big service year awards and gifts. Real recognition not $10 gift cards. Coffee club or $100 to a handful. It’s embarrassing to tell friends and family the benefits and perks of Allstate. Anybody think they will transform for the better ? Ever ??
The Wilsons, Shapiros, Brandts, and Parsons of this company don't care, are so out of touch with this company to know what it and it's customers need, and not intelligent enough to know any better. As long as those vile gluttons get their overpaid for what they are worth checks it is the same deal in terms of hiring to quality and need. Garbage in...garbage out. Allstate has had this issue long before COVID and have been scouring the ghettos and plights for at least a decade now scraping the social and professional bottom of the barrel including hiring felons and s-x offenders. Until the abovementioned slimeballs start feeling it in their bank accounts not a thing will change. And the endgame? India at $5 an hour. Under current leadership this company is beyond f**ked.
Why won’t they even try to stay competitive? With the lowest starting wages in the insurance industry and no bonuses or gainshare, how can they expect to hire??
Allstate Recruiter here. You are correct. It’s very difficult finding qualified candidates especially in the claims sector who are licensed or even people who just want to work period. We’re urgently focused on filling the positions that were terminated last year.
Starting with a new company. Can't wait.
I don’t think the commute has anything to do with it anymore - most people are hybrid or work from home at this point. I think it’s the overall lack of concern from management about employee morale and the under market pay. It’s a hit job market right now. People can leave and find something better. And they are. Legal is hemorrhaging attorneys. Oh, and it’s the fact that management has no clear plan for the company. They’re just buying growth at this point. It’s not sustainable. So employees know it’s a sinking ship and are fleeing. Meanwhile, management is shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic, not realizing the talent they need is all leaving en masse.
