Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Who got raises and how much?

How much did ya'll get? My guess is its nowhere near matching inflation. Most of NOV employees havent had a raise since 2014 and do you know how much of raise you would need today to just not be poorer than you were then? 17%.

I got mine, life is good! In case you cake eaters don’t know it, there is this little thing going on called a global pandemic, quit sniveling and be appreciative of what you do have and quit crying about that which you don’t have. Ingrates.

Well boys, you have a choice. If you don't like the raise you got or didn't get, quit! Move on, find another job and quit belly aching. It is not going to get better anytime soon and all your doing is making yourself sick from all the crying you do.

I hear there's plenty of jobs out there, go!

They did the same to me. My boss was almost too disgusted to even tell me about it.

3% increade and they took 5% ICP out my bonus. I did notice the basic maths and BS story my boss tried to sell it to me with.

Why we still have the same CEO who has not produced a penny of profit and blames anything and everything but himself and his top team, is utterly beyond me and everyone I speak with in the company.

Shame they don’t send out proper links to ask real questions to the CEO and CFO.

Basic questions like

1) If a normal employee failed to deliver for 7 years, would they still have a job?

Seriously? You mean this ole shop hand and my homie's are getting raises and not you cubicle peeps?

I guess working for Tuboscope isn't bad after all, 6% this year and 6% in 2019, 4% in 2018 and 7% in 2016 .... i guess the shop floor is doing better than corporate offices.

@1beg+1d6MHLRb You said "Best raise I ever got from NOV, was when they laid me off" How long ago was that? Did you have to search long and hard to find a new job? Are you required to stay on your knees for long periods of time?

Or you can just make up overtime hours like the old Bammel crew used to. Just don’t get caught…it’s all good until it no longer smells like flowers’ anymore ;-0. Act surprised & let the Hispanic take the fall. Protect your fellow obese buds.

NOVs way of avoiding raises is to let you get all the overtime you want. Even if theres no sense in it. Lots of departments will let everybody just stay for no good reasoning.
Ive accrued many hours of OT all for a box of washers showing up on a saturday that had zero to do with me.
Its a management thing but, im not turning down OT.
I’ll keep an ignorant supervisor around just for that cause i will take that milk money.

I’m gonna leave.
Just as soon as I get that severance check, im gone!
Before I drive off, im gonna sp-t on that parking lot.
Then its off to new and better things!

Dont make due just leave! It will be worth it guaranteed! NOV is toxic AF
It blows my mind how they think you have to work for them. And how you can easily be replaced. We are living in different times.

Best raise I ever got from NOV, was when they laid me off. Secured a new role making 30% more. The market is very strong if you are a good "catch".

Those of us who dont get at least a cost of living raise, only should tell you that this company doesnt give a terd.
I was in a place years ago where every year we recieved a cost of living raise. It just came. Then we were bought out.
This place does not care. They put it on you.
So the choice is, make due or, leave.
