9/30 VBOs

Another round of VBO people are leaving tomorrow. I wish them all good luck, hope they have a long retirement and are able to spend more time with family and friends. Please post and let us know how life is on the other side. Final round will leave on 12/31.

I didn't take the VBO- I didn't yet qualify for one so I quit in early 2020 after 17 years- but I feel similar to who many of you VBOers feel. I feel healthier and more alive without the stress of constant micromanaging, MBRs, reviews, 8:30 AM team meetings. No more lousy FCs blaming their deficiencies on me while asking me to cover for them. No more lousy managers who only care about their bonuses and share payouts.

I'm a 9/30 VBO and one week into retirement. I do feel major relief and I'm already sleeping much better but at this point it just feels like I'm on vacation.

I've been at fido for 15 years as of nov 6, 2021. I've been re-org'd about once every 9 months since 2012. As if I can consistently ask my 'brand new' manager for 'an immediate promotion' LOL. I've given up on getting promoted because each new manager wants something different and then I get re-org'd. Bu-----t on that!. I'm well behind my peers on promotions because of that luck of the draw re-org every 9 months. I give up. I need to hang on and do the minimum work to not get fired for the next 3 years. I will qualify for a buyout then. 3 yrs or bust. I'll likely quit regardless. Because, well, bu-----t!!!! my 2c. For what it is worth.

My last day was 6/30 and it has become the best thing that has ever happened to me. You don't realize how much stress you live with there, until you leave.
