A few words of warning: don't believe your manager when they tell you you're safe. The fact is they're just trying to keep you calm and doing your job to the last possible moment before they pull the rug from under your feet. The longer you are kept in the dark, the longer you make them look good. They don't give a damn what not being prepared to lose your job is going to mean for you or your family. You don't matter.

What kind of managers do you have anyway. Mine tells me no one below the executive VP's are "safe". He did tell me that I would know as soon as he heard anything and one can't ask for anything else as most managers are told who to WFR and if not they are given a dollar amount that they need to meet.
My people and functional managers are pretty good but that doesnt stop people in my team losing their jobs because of upper level managment.
And what is it precisely and exhaustively that these middle managers do? Get ALL the (grossly overpaid) overhead out now and things will be much simpler… and cheaper.
Why should managers care, you don't. Its a two-way street. BUT middle managers don't make the decision, they are told to cut X dollars or a certain person by a date. They have to follow instructions or they will be gone too.
Time you all understand how business works and stop being such baby's
Indeed.
I was 'exactly the type of person we need to retain'. Didn't stop several cycles of WFR, with last minute 'saves'. Except that being 'saved' felt like being condemned to yet more time of living he-l.
I quit. Without a new job to go to. I had three job offers made while I was working my notice period, and walked out of DXC on Friday, and into a much better role on the following Monday.
DXC culture is still highly toxic. I can't understand why though. Mike S has a track record in growing business, and building great culture (great by American standards anyway). Mary F was very successful at Accenture, and built good HR & culture. These folks should have been able to turn DXC around. But, sadly, it hasn't happened.
Conclusion: DXC is a place that you're better off leaving, unless you're approaching retirement and just waiting for your pension...
Of course they do not care and they never will, regardless of what they put on their slides. If you are not part of the gang, then you are an expendable resource, that is the hard reality. There is nobody you can trust in this organization. Competition and clients have many nick names for DXC. What is most striking is that the D usually stands for Deception, the most distinguished characteristic of the DXC values and beliefs. Do you think the timing of the survey is a coincidence?
