I spent 7-1/2 years with the company. A while back, I would say it was a good company to work for. In the last 4 years or so, the opposite - it has gone down hill substantially to the point where the wheels have come off.
If you are honest, a hard worker, good at what you do, and have integrity and honesty, this is not the place for you.
Management has their heads up the butts of the managers above them, and this goes all the way up to the CEO. Their only concerns are their bonuses. Nothing gets fixed, and if you dare speak out about something that isn't right, good chance your manager will make your life there miserable. It is very rare to come across a company where management is so ineffective. The higher ups are completely disconnected from the average person and rely on various levels of managers to tell them what they want to hear, not what they need to hear.
The company looks great from the outside, but on the inside with the rapid and unchecked growth, there has not been any upgrading of internal systems and processes so that one has what they need to do their jobs. There has been talk about it lately, but from my experience there, the only thing that is done when it comes to fixing things is talk and all talk - zero action.
They will eventually pull themselves out of this, but it will be at the cost of a lot more good people. In the last couple of reorgs, good people who worked hard and tried to make things better were packaged out. Incompetence and dishonesty is rewarded, hard work and integrity / honesty / ethics are punished.
I was a contractor and I left by my own choosing - was put into a position where it was a choice between my health and my job. The stress level within the company is incredible and has been for some time.
The Construction Services Office is so determined to build their own castles and take over everything except accounting and BD, they throw anyone they can under the bus to make themselves look good. Had the opportunity to do an audit on the work they performed and it was very lacking compared to what they hold others to. A wonderful double standard that is supported all the way up to the CEO.
It's who you know not what you know. So, if you know someone higher up or a manager in the company, you will likely do well. If you don't and are hoping to succeed based on ones merits, hard work, integrity and honesty, go somewhere else.
I could go on for a long time but will leave it at this. If you choose to work for this company, be very careful.
