More divisiveness not needed in this company

Just got this lovely email this AM:

"The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our communities. The safety of our workforce remains our top priority. In alignment with the recently announced federal vaccination plan, the reporting process is the first step in preparing to comply with the mandate. We understand that you may have questions and as more information becomes available, we will share next steps. Ford employees can view Frequently Asked Questions on Life@Ford here.

Action Required
• Submit your vaccination status and upload proof of vaccination (if applicable) here.

• You can also go to vaccination.ford.com
• The secure online portal is accessible via PC, iPad or mobile device.
• Complete submission by Friday, Oct. 8
• If your vaccination status changes after Oct. 8, you can revisit the portal to update your information
• All U.S. salaried employees, agency and purchased service resources are required to provide this information. People Leaders of purchased service are encouraged to forward this communication to their supplier contact. All MSX agency employers have been notified."

Goes on to say only select few people in Medical and HR corporate will have access to our information; yeah, right, more Farley tales to tell us, right?

Seriously, for a company that prides itself on following it's 'Northstar', they sure fell in line fast. This is a very divisive issue, and my greatest fear is that as in other others, people will quit and or retire rather than go through mandates that they feel are private between them, their families, and doctors. There is a shortage of staff in health care at the moment (my dentist office is down four people, and he can barely keep his office open), caused by burn out related to COVID restrictions and vaccine mandates. We have enough issues in this company, we should be bringing people together not pulling them apart with another polarizing issue.

As expected, minds are closed. Why so many downvotes on @isp+1d2fwMRz when it's just a link to some reasoned thoughts, with supporting docs, on why someone might not want to get the vaccines.

Cut the bu-----t about "no more divisiveness in this company." What you really mean is "as long as I get what I want with this divisive issue, then I'm happy." There are people that don't want to be around unvaccinated people at work potentially infecting them, and then there are people who don't care, and probably aren't vaccinated themselves since they don't care. If Ford did nothing with regard to asking people if they're vaccinated, then the anti-vax side wins. There's no neutral ground here. Either Ford doesn't ask for vaccination status and the anti-vax people win because they are free to be around people who don't want to be around them at work, or they ask for vaccination status and the pro-vax people win because they get a workplace free of having to risk their health around unvaccinated people. Quit playing the cheap "oh I want everyone to move beyond this divisive issue" card, because you know this has to go one way or the other, there's no in between where everyone's happy. Admit that you really just want your side to win out.

I'll believe it when I am with Bill Ford Jr. and we go to a random vax center of my choosing and he gets the jab. Doesn't anyone find it funny how "they" want everyone and their uncle to get vaccinated, but never a mention of a control group given the long term side effects will not be known for a LONG TIME.

For the "trust the science" crowd: control group. n. (Medicine) any group used as a control in a statistical experiment, esp a group of patients who receive either a placebo or a standard dr-g during an investigation of the effects of another dr-g on other patients.

So you are/were willing to roll up your sleeve for an experimental injection? Which has mixed results in terms of it's effectiveness (especially against the delta variant). And you have no idea what spike proteins will cause in terms of long term effects? Even if you ran a hypothesis test on the effectiveness it would likely show that nothing changed. So "Trust the Science, but Math is Bu-----t?"

@tfi+1d2fwMRz Good--lose your job. I was pushed to retire and slapped with huge medical costs a year afterwards because of Ford's recent cost hikes. I will never buy a Ford again either, but it's not about the covid shots. I am fully vaccinated.

I will not comply. I will not answer the survey. I will not submit to being tested. My family are multi-generational Ford employees and I've only ever driven Ford vehicles my entire life. If we lose our jobs because of this then Ford is dead to me and we will never purchase Ford vehicles again.

They can do pretty much whatever they want...... there is little to no accountability as long as you are on the correct side of politics and the great reset.

Don't quit and don't sign something that says you admit you are quitting..... at least make them fire you. This should all be illegal and unconstitutional and if at some point our corrupt judiciary can be overcome you should get back pay and penalties.

The purpose of the recent device certifications is blatantly clear now. I suggest that those of you who may be impacted go read the Life@Ford articles and confirm what they actually say for yourself, however what I saw there was that they're playing the "HIPAA doesn't apply to us" card and the next item said that currently it's currently only mandated of certain employees, but they are preparing to extend it "to all U.S employees"

You knew it was coming and I don't disagree with the policy. If I was still working, I'd want to work around vaccinated employees to reduce the risk of the transmission of the disease. None of us have lived thru a pandemic before and this is the only viable option they have to try to curtail it.
