Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Is hard work worth the effort if you are on a PIP?

A lot of people say it's not worth the effort at all because mostly everyone who is on a PIP is eventually told they are not needed anymore.. In essence, they say that all the effort is in vain and that we should not exhaust ourselves because everything has already been decided....... Still, others say it’s worth putting in some extra effort.

I got my last manager fired for filing false documents in a write-up about me. Everyone is now on notice not to mess with me in my location. Document everything and get them fired.

I've been here for 5 years. I can tell you it is extremely rare that anyone comes back from a PIP. If you make it off of this one, you'll be on another one very soon. PIP it's a death warrant. Do yourself a favor, find another job ASAP.

Start looking for another job. I’m sure you can find something less stressful then this Sh*t ho-e place. Remember you are replaceable to them.

I would look for a new job if you’re placed on a PIP. Do a good job and do as they ask but as the person above also said, it is likely political, so someone clearly wants you out and is laying groundwork to make it easier to remove you from the org. Your work may not be the issue, in fact often it isn’t. Maybe someone doesn’t like you, or you have inadvertently threatened someone, or someone otherwise stands to benefit from you not doing well at the org. The thing is once you’ve been on a PIP for whatever reason (maybe it’s because you’re doing 5 jobs after they laid off everyone else and shockingly you can’t keep up, maybe it’s political, etc.) you aren’t likely to be treated like someone with a long future there even if you manage to keep your job for a while. Who wants to be treated like you’re less than you are? I’d hold my head up high, smile and give your notice for your better job and kiss this place goodbye (and do just enough to keep your job in the meantime while working toward this goal…most likely your “attitude” will also be their main area of focus, so be sure to keep a convincing smile on your face).

When worked at Centene was on a PIP, but so were many in my department including Supervisors. It is all mostly politics. Keep in mind you are able to dispute the PIP if you do not agree with what it says. Contact HR and begin ticket.
