Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Regrets

I can’t see why anyone is worried about Mattel and its future. With its movies finally coming out, Mattel will be leading not only the toy industry but the entertainment industry, too. I regret leaving FP every time I hear about all the exciting blockbusters and the impact they’ll have on Mattel. If only I had stayed to reap all the benefits of all these big-time movie releases. Darn it!

The Barbie Movie was in development in 2012 when I started.

Don't worry, the mattel movie team can't get anything off the ground so a barbie movie won't be happening in our life times. I've been here three years and all I've heard about is movies and all I've seen is nothing.

From what I know about Millenials and Gen Z, they can't STAND Barbie. they don't let their kids play with Barbie b/c it's a misogynistic toy. So why they think a stupid Barbie movie would make any profits is beyond me.

I know this post sarcastic but I thought there were films in production like Barbie? Does anyone know anything about them?

The other day I was listening to the recent NYTimes interview with the Mattel CEO and I was struggling to think of reasons to keep on living knowing that I'm missing out on being part of a world class, an IP-driven, high-performing toy company. I also left OP, for reasons that made sense at the time but now torment me constantly. Why? Why was I so stupid?! Maybe this is what I deserve.
