I absolutely understand all those who say they don’t give their best because it’s not worth much here. However, I'm not sure what it means when someone says that they do the bare minimum. In my case, that minimum - what needs to be done - is still a lot of work.
If I only did half the work I would probably be fired and that’s why I don’t understand people who say they only work the bare minimum.

This is planned. Burn people out, make them leave, pay no redundancy package. Grade honest hard workers as "underperforming" - such a shame!
They do the bare minimum because they feel totally under valued, constantly being dumped on and working for a company where there is no clear and effective strategy, other than to keep cutting costs.
Respect and commitment is a two way street.
