Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

It gets better

It's been a little over two years since I've been laid off. I remember how miserable I was constantly waiting for the axe to fall. I'll never forget that feeling. That last year at Allstate was probably the worst in my life. I remember almost feeling relief once I knew I was leaving. I'm not in a perfect place right now, but it's much better than it was there. I think many people don't realize just how bad it is and that it can get better until they leave. My point is, don't wait to be laid off. If you are miserable at Allstate, do yourself a favor and walk away.

I echo that! It was always the lingering threat of "the department may go to India, but the big boss won't let that happen." Well, it happened...and I was so relieved when it did. My last day two years ago, the first thing I did was deleted my "manager's" phone number and never looked back!
