Removal variable pay from FY22 onwards

Received an email from HR informing me that I am not longer eligible for variable pay, effective immediately for FY22 and the future. These x-x really understand how to motivate staff to go the extra mile. Line management “leadership” is hiding in the background as HR is instructed to do the dirty work.

If it were only that easy. Not every job is straight salary. Employees don't think up these hair brained compensation models. The company is trying to pay as little as they can while driving the highest profit. That's business. But when you have hired team members with a substantial variable component and then later decide to take it away you are essentially asking those employees to leave UNLESS you do a base pay adjustment. The company needs to pay market value one way or another. The variable component was probably one of the main reasons why a substantial portion of the staff remained. Without pay raises or the chance to earn a bonus, why stay? Before I left, my group had a variable comp plan based on a target billability goal of 80%. 80% was appropriate for the business model we started at, but the company changed the model and was driving team members towards 95% billability. With accelerators for overachieving the goal, people were making a ki----g with their bonuses and at the same time ki----g the profitability of the group. Next step was to determine how they could change the program mid-year to fix the issue. I had to run all sorts of scenarios, but at the end of the day they knew the top performers (i.e. billers) would leave if they made a change mid year, so they let it go. Sounds like they don't care about that anymore.

Extra pay / variable pay, I agree that is BULL cr-p, You get a salary like the rest of us that is the same every two weeks. If you work 1 hour or 80 hours its the SAME. STOP being a baby

At the same time there's rises for some.

  1. 3% would be good on $4.2 million sone deserve ten times as much ie 33% so the new pay is $5.58 million. Absolutely gross.

"Mary Finch, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, in fiscal 2021 received total compensation of US$5.58 million, up 33 percent from fiscal 2020’s US$4.20 million."

How can they justify a HR role at $5.6 million, and yet senior roles in delivery are only $50000 eg 110 times less and Mike thinks they are not deserving of 4%.

No wonder the shareholders have revolted and staff don't believe the words on pay.

Had this last month. HR was a complete shambles, couldn't answer any of the questions put to them on the call. It was obvious it had been dumped on them from above my Mikey and Mary. I will never trust a word these people say. They are con artists, the stock market is waking up to this too.

That's just confirmation.

The bonus that's in your contract and has never been paid, will now never be paid in future.

Bet you don't see an upward adjustment in your base pay though - after all, the bonus was never paid so why would you expect anything to compensate for it?
