Spot on. Mark was head of global transformation and the transformation was a complete failure which resulted in the B&B show and now GFK (lay-off everyone). somehow mark get promoted!!!! Simply amazing!!!

Let’s go Hitachi Vantara!

You could characterize Mark's career as a "survivor" - he survived the B&B (Brad & Bobby) disaster. I believe he chose to stay due to not pi$$ing off the Ltd. leadership and he found a niche for career durability - he outlasted and beat the B&B cancer! The unknown here is whether he has any clue or strategy in leading HV back to being relevant? He has nothing in his career background to indicate he has the experience or courage to make the difficult decisions. For those who have hope for HV's future..keep an eye on strategy and execution - all of the massive HV $$ spent on Del0itte's transformation consulting back in 2017-2019, the results were never realized.

Question - who was the leader in charge of the HV Transformation??

Answer - Mark Ablett

Hmmmmm......

Usually if it takes this long to finally select an internal candidate, it means he did not have the trust to begin with, and then it is either of he built the trust somehow OR that they could not find anyone external in the price range they were targeting. From all I know, this guy definitely had the capability. And its not like GFK spent the last many months having lunch with him so its not likely that he built trust. I think they could not find who they wanted in the price range they wanted and so went with second choice. Good for him I hope. I am not sure getting a promotion in GFK's world is to be considered a good thing.

How was this good move? This guy was the head of go to market strategy which clearly failed resulting in new CEO's, tons of re-orgs, mass reduction of people, and constant pivit. GFK clearly does not know what he doing. I am leaving - HV is dead.

Just a damage control move. No questions on capability, he deserves it, But if he was the choice of Cognichi, announcement would have come months back.
