Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How is it that Intel always lays off those that this company needs the most?

That is, the ones that any normal company that is interested in growth and success would try to keep?

I was in the smarter, harder working than my manager and I wasn't a kiss a$$. They gave me a meets at focal. I took my sabbatical (8+3) and took the offer. Surprisingly, I heard they were not prepared for my decision. I am so much happier that I don't work for that company anymore. My new company is super nice. I'm making less and there's no stress.

The answer is that Intel's culture is entirely broken. Not only do most in Intel leadership view employees as replaceable "resources," they value those who say yes to whatever hair-brained scheme that they and their Bain consultants dream up over those who challenge bad ideas before they create massive failures.

Just look at all of the Intel leaders who have failed over and over again. Those who are supposed to assist and advise Intel leaders against doing stupid things..and did the opposite. And all of the good people who have left (or been booted out).

Intel always layoff those troublemakers
no matter how good you are, if the person is acted above the team/manager
this type of person is deemed surplus or liability

"It’s management 101, if your reports are smarter than you, do more work than you, and don’t kiss your a— then you get rid of them to save yourself."
This is sadly true. Early in my career, I had a manager who suggested offering me money to leave the company, and he explain what the reason was. You'd be surprised how many engineering managers allow themselves to become obsolete in their areas of expertise, and how they turn to abuse of power to survive.

The company is playing lip service when they say they want to grow. The management wants to grow their golden parachutes into ever bigger swaths of cloth. The CEO has a track record of doing everything to boost financial metrics and nothing else. The Intel board did a very bad job of selecting him.

Your mistake in confusing Intel as a well run company, when in reality it is a welfare dispensation machine for management and their family members.
