Why is it so hard to make any progress at NOV, no matter how hard a person tries? Or better yet, is it vain to expect progress in this company?
I know many people who have spent their time here, and whose skill, knowledge, engagement in other companies is much more valued.

Its not hard, you just have to know where to put your lips and whos desk to crawl under. Bonus points for no gag reflex.
You want to know how to get a'head' in the company? Drive down to the Tower and go up to the 20 something floor, look for a Segway in a corner office and there your will find a person that has climbed the ladder by knowing how to chase good gossip, kiss important a$$ and throw good people under the bus. He will enjoy the visit, give you a few good pointers then call your boss and tell on you. LOL
Fortunately karma will eventually catch up to them.

This company could care less of you or your buddy whos sweating his a-s off with you for this company. They only care that you do what your there to do so they get their bonus to pay for that yacht or deer lease.
We are merely their stock interest payment.
Meaning, were doggy dung!
