Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Do you manage to have a work-life balance?

There is no balance here, unfortunately. Chase was never a place where work-life balance was respected. I don’t know if Chase is the worst bank when it comes to that issue, but it’s certainly the bank where I’ve personally been the least successful at actually having a life next to work.

You're right, Nelson. I once left at 5pm many years ago and told my self I would never do that again. Turns out, it's been working great leaving early every day so I can beat the (Nelson) traffic. Ha ha.

Ha Ha! (Said in the voice of Nelson from the Simpson’s). You aren’t turning it off at 5:00 because you won’t be leaving at 5:00.

They love to sound like they care about your WLB but don’t let that mask fool you. I spent a majority of my time working more than anything. If my life flashes before my eyes when I die, all I will see will be the excel sheets and emails and my manager’s face....that’s disgust and sad .....

You are absolutely correct. The easiest way is to self manage it. Become your own manager of time in regards to working and then turning it off at 5pm or whenever you go home.
