Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

Why HV will no longer give exit packages

In April, 4 million Americans quit their jobs, the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. That's 2.8%, the highest quit rate in the 21 years such data has been collected. The rates in May and June weren't far behind: 3.6 million (2.5%) and 3.9 million (2.7%), respectively.
The c-level executives are fully aware of this and have no need to offer exit incentives to reduce head count.

HV's reputation is beyond repair. How do you even begin to repair it when it's still being destroyed from the inside.

Most companies aren't able to give severance packages as they close up shop. They just don't have the money. The question is, will Ltd fund severance payments for whoever is left when they admit that Vantara is no longer viable? Or do they just add those few people to Global Logic and make it their problem?

@5inm+1cpbV5js if HV won a 100 million contract then they'll spend 120 million to deliver what was promised.

There is nothing good to say about this company. Employees are treated like sc-m.

Take a small company like Palo Alto Networks which was able to win a $100M contract for instance. That’s what you call a WIN! There are no wins like that at HV.

What multi million dollar wins have we had in the last year anyway? All we see if GFK going on LinkedIn and touting the same clients we have had for the last many years. It feels and smells stale.

However, I am pretty sure he has sucked his way into the Hit leadership inner circle. I have heard he has been given a long long long rope. Merging GlobalL next year will be a key part of the strategy. Good for RL, not so good for the GL leadership

I thought I was clear with this. Yes no compensation to leave when your staff is going through an exit on their own. The statistically speaking, HV is far from being a healthy company. It’s been a long time since they would report a multi- million dollar WIN. HV news today is pretty bleak.

Your post is a little misleading. It sounds like you are saying management doesn’t feel that they need to lay people off because enough employees will leave on their own. That’s not such a bad thing. Laying people off without any package would be a different story.
