DPC is just a relatively trivial paperwork exercise. Easy to agree with supervisor to gloss it over and bury it.

I'm NRE and got NSI this year. I played hardball with my young supervisor and told him I am cooperating fully, but, can't fill out the DPC the way he posed it. He was afraid to go back to his supervisor with the dilemma see so he admitted he doesn't understand the logic, d-mbed it way down and fills it out for me. Just to avoid the unnecessary confrontation. I told him he's smarter than he looks.

I am NRE. I moved up a category this year.

The group I was in last year had pushed me down as my boss did not even know what I did and never even visited the country that I was working in.

The group that I am in now needs and appreciates me.

Moving to different group really can make a world of difference, up or down.

I am NRE and moved up in the ranking also. I think it must depend on organization and mgmt.

@xdy I'm happy for you but you're certainly the exception, not the rule. Congratulations.

No ! NREs can't be separated other than for something damn serious : ethics violations, not showing up for work, insubordination, se-ual harassment, failed dr-g test etc...

EM is HORRIFIED of getting their as--s sued off for terminating someone this close to retirement. ( If on that jury, the terminated employee wins BIG ! ) I don't know of a single incidence of an NSI / NRE being terminated. DPC has absolutely no ba--s at all. All you have to do is show up for work. They'll try and make you so miserable you'll quit. But if you show up for work and suffer thru all of the bu-----t they are certain to throw at you, you'll make it. That simple

What is going to happen if the supervisor fails your DPC? Will you get separated?

DPC is sort of like a participation trophy most millennials got growing up. All you have to do to "win" is to play the game. I'm an NRE that was NSI this year. It doesn't matter what they specify in the DPC....you can't fail ! Sooooooo....I'll play the game another year or two, collect my pension and retire FI with full benefits. In the interim I won't be doing anything significant or adding any value, but will continue to collect a fat paycheck, add to my 401k, and wait for those coveted pension funding notices.

They get to remain employed until they become RE.
