Happening as we speak. I doubt it’ll go to 100% outsourcing because our business people are too karen and won’t have patience to deal with MSP so some of us will need to be around to do the hair tearing job. I was only ranked Excellent this year so my PIL should come in the next 1-2 years if I hang around… 80% of us will be gone in 2-3 years, last person left to turn out the lights will be one of the Outstanding with distinction people this year
Does anyone know when EMIT 100% outsourcing is planned to happen?
Best advice I have is certainly don't try to fill in gaps on all the personnel leaving. If you need to add responsibilities then re-prioritize and let things of lesser noted value go. Part of the problem is as more leave teams are getting smaller and trying to do too much which is burning out more people who then in turn leave and the cycle continues.
No company is worth your soul.
I am juggling a couple of individual roles as replacements are being sought and it's a matter of identifying what needs to get done to keep the business progressing and slowing down anything that doesn't pass the lights on approach.
To the above's point yes seeing L3's, L4',s L5's, many IC's all resigning. This is certainly problematic across the board and the brain drain is accelerating. Now even seeing job posts for experienced hires which was very rare, and this happened after last years significant reduction in competent contractor headcount where we were already struggling to try to fit employees into those positions.
it's going to be fun to watch all these "advisors / design leads" squirm to prove their value, as there won't be anyone left for them to say "i'm really too busy to chat with you right now" and then go back to checking the stock market.
To the last person, forget about turning off the lights. Our buildings are LEED Class A energy efficient, they turn off by themselves.
Nah let them pay a hefty bill. Wasting energy is so metaphorical in any sense with the great xom
IT job market is hot right now.
In what universe?
Who cares about raises if there's no job security. I get almost 10% salary hike every year for the past 10 years and my salary now is beyond stellar. And yet scary. I am next in the chopping block, that's for sure. Not worth to stay. Money is not everything. Integrity and decency is what I am looking for now.
@sfk What’s the big news? How much?
Apparently there’s big news in January regarding raises. I read that notice as we don’t know what the he-l we’re going to do but please don’t jump ship while we figure it out.
It would warm my cold, dark, and bitter EMIT heart to see the XOM dynasty crumble and fall to tiny pieces. With any luck, I'll soon be out of this cluster fu-k of a company and happily watching its glorious downfall from the sidelines, popcorn and soda in hand. I don't see things going any other way. The way this company operates internally and externally just isn't sustainable.
Great, only the ones without transferable IT skills will be left. Aka, Advisors? Who are you going to advise now? You do it all.
Lol it’s so bad that even leadership is leaving.
It's getting bad, resignations right and left. Many are not even putting 2 weeks notice in. Seems that LT does not care and plans on replacing everyone leaving with an MSP contractor.
For those who are still in EMIT, maybe look at the quality of people who are staying vs leaving. There are some incredibly worthless ones that appear to be choosing to stick around.
Last person in Controllers please remember the EMIT person to turn off the lights. Maybe a ppt with some bullets can help!
