I swear that was the most absurd thing I've ever seen in a business. I accepted a position in Cigna's call center some years ago, and during training they actually mandated that you take your monitor and turn it so its vertical instead of horizontal, so you could read all the customer information that was being displayed from this software application they were using.
I was actually told that if I didn't turn my monitor vertically, that I could get myself and other people in trouble.
Most ridiculous thing ever!!
Being in new hire training was like being in kindergarten. That's how I was treated.
