huskynet pile of garbage goes away on September 30th.... expensive junkyard of sh*t. I've heard it directly from the content team, they can't wait for that thing to go away. It was terribly designed with content coming from all over their internal network, no centralized hosting, which is standard for internal intranets. CVE was designed as a fully centralized content delivery system, far superior to the huskynet pile of junk. say bye bye in 15 days... good riddance!

You mean the 20 yr old sitecore cve intranet is a pile of sh*t?

huskynet and husky servicenow both go away here pretty soon... good riddance. the husky business model seemed to be like the liberal government, spend spend and spend. CVE is a low cost operator, has to be to stay alive. Your expensive piles of technology p-o that are put together with gum and black tape gotta go....

I can only imagine husky is like CVE but maybe better at hiding the graft and corruption.

Just my non-IT observation, it seems like every 3 or so years there is a new system that we just must adopt, and just started to work the bugs out of the last system and making it work.

Either the IT guys or someone else in decision making authority are getting some awesome BJs from the software sales folk, or it's just plain simple incompetence. I think it might be a bit of both.

CVE has always had the problem of execs wanting to make a name for themselves and getting a new pony. Then riding it long enough to get a big bonus, then changing portfolios and repeating the same cycle.

It's a gong show, they just have to keep dancing long enough to avoid the gong and collect the prize.

Merger will be finished when the company is dissolved. It will go the way of Dome/HBOG... you have been warned.

award? what a joke... huskynet is a pile of junk "under the hood".... easily the poorest intranet system architecture I've ever seen... be very glad to see these husky piles-of-junk get decommissioned. husky IT's business model was a joke... insanely expensive, no wonder you guys got bought out so cheaply.... keep your junk at WCP. Cenovus will teach you how to run a 'real' company. lol

Just because you don't know how to doesn't mean anything is broken, you guys have lack of experience..

Also on Huskynet check this out https://www.nngroup.com/news/item/2020-intranet-design-annual-awards/ Huskynet got the award for best intranet site.. Where is your award??

You still haven't answered on what you actually delivered this year or any other year?

if you think hse IT is 10 years ahead of CVE then you are on glue. You know, they are doing wonderful things at mental institutions these days. CVE IT is still sorting out the rats nest of junk in the hse domain, that is why integration is taking SO long (as I said earlier). just look at your garbage pile of huskynet... just a rats nest of different hosting sites all over the place... it isn't recoverable, it'll just get ditched next month.

HSE business model wasn't great that's why CVE acquired it.. you personally haven't done sh-t, John is the master behind that.. Aside from that, you haven't answered my question yet.. What have you delivered?? Nothing! IT is 10 yrs ahead at least compared to CVE.. You have no process or discipline in IT...I hope SW wakes up and realizes it quickly before its too late.. All the technology decisions were made wit bias forced by JB and IE..

10 years ahead? in your DREAMS. WE know exactly what we bought... a tired old company that needs to be stripped down like bad paint so we can get to the good wood underneath. We bought you clowns for $3.8BN dollars... which is almost nothing... if you were so damn good you wouldn't have been sold for so cheap. Don't worry... we'll fix you.... 1000's HSE of layoffs later....

Yeah OK bud....... You aren't able to deliver on anything so far, never mind migrating HSE to your non-robust systems.. HSE is probably 10 yrs ahead of where you are, you all have just been led to believe its the other way, besides you don't understand the business you took on.. We're coming up to a year and how many people did you actually migrate..?? Handful if.. I'm on the project so i think i know a little bit more than you.. And i wasn't referring to the CIO.. I referred to the PM of integration (A.R)

CVE IT reputation in town is that you never deliver on anything which so far i witnessed to be true... you keep talking about cloud and yet haven't done fck all, tell me one thing you delivered on... Maybe start with getting rid of the useless contractors (yourself included) who are milking the cow and have no experience but are learning on CVE dime.

@5loc+1ch5kD4Y How? CVE CIO was the HSE CIO

laff... "complex".. more like... terribly designed and implemented with black tape and chewing gum.... don't worry... we're goanna ditch the legacy husky domain soon and move whats left of husky staff to well thought out and architected CVE IT systems. btw... CVE is not 'legacy'.....

Its the fault of the CPMO. CPMO hired a guy to be in charge of the integration who has been fired from every company in town including hse, so far he is keeping his reputation intact by having not delivered a thing..

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Legacy CVE IT folks have no skills or competency to support the new complex organization and also they are unable to deliver anything and never have..

IT Integration is taking longer than expected because legacy husky systems and processes are just a steaming pile of p-o. NO wonder we bought them out so cheaply... now we get to untangle their horror story IT systems and garbage processes. I thought Deep Basin integration was bad. CVE buying HSE was like buying some crazy old mans house who is a hoarder whose house is full of garbage... goanna take us a while to clean it out.

Well said.
This is a company where you get paid well due to the constant job uncertainty.

I am looking for a new job, due to mental health issues with staying here for too long under that constant threat of unemployment.

This is funny,
Ok get it straight you work for Cenovus now your job will never ever be safe ever. We have been through 12 rounds of layoffs and even after Alex promised no more layoffs he still did layoffs. The only thing you can do is try to get as much money as possible from Cenovus as you can while you can. Understand despite all their talk of culture and values they truly do not care about you or me and never will. The second they need to cut costs they go back to the layoff option. That’s why I don’t buy into any of their talk on teamwork or anything like that. They’ve proven over and over they just don’t care. How is it for our culture when the big guys just got $30M plus in bonuses while you are still worried about your job? That’s fairness to them, not to me. It makes me want to pu-e when I hear them talk about culture and values and all that as I know they would lay anyone of us off tomorrow if they decided you didn’t fit in or they need to make some random layoff target.

So no your job is not safe today, tomorrow, or anytime in the near or far future.

ERP/HRIS is messed up the only thing that happening there is that ton of money being spent and delivery dates keep changing, so far nothing delivered... Leadership change is required, the person running it has lost her compass.
