Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Is it smart to switch teams within Allstate?

I'm hoping the lateral move would give me a better chance to progress in my career down the road (I don't have that option where I am currently due to nepotism) but I can't be sure that the situation I'll be walking into isn't exactly the same - only I'll also be an outsider there as well. Can somebody who has done something similar please tell me how it went?

I was going to try a new role but my department has already gone thru TG (layoffs special separation) and that one hasn’t really. I can see it being part of the overhaul later and I don’t want to take the risk. It’s a shame bc it is interesting and I think I’d have a lot to offer.

You’re not going to get good advice here. The people in this website have the crab mentality of pulling others down into the pit of misery. Go take a new role and learn something new that will advance youre career
