Ranking System

After careful consideration, I have concluded that the EM ranking system sucks ! I don't know why they even ask for input from your Supervisor / Manager when in the end, their opinions don't mean $hit. This is strictly a popularity contest when they get behind closed doors to determine who lives or dies. Totally biased toward their little minions who do no productive work nor add any value. It's all about networking and who you can get to speak up for you in the holy of holies, the ranking meeting. My ranking was less than stellar last year, so together with my supervisor, we developed a plan to improve this year and executed it ( by managers own admission) to perfection, yet my ranking fell another "notch". Fortunately I'm NRE and won't feel the full force of a PIP, but apparently need Documented Performance Counseling. My first instinct was to tell them what to do with this thankless job but I decided instead to stick around another couple of years until I'm RE and make them see me everyday, knowing that they can't touch me unless I really ?u-K up. My plan is to take screwing off to a level they've never imagined. FUEM

@don OP here:

My situation is similar. 57 years old with 13 years service. Hang around and give em' he-l. You made it to NRE and would have to do something HORRIBLE to be fired. Just show up for work, smile like a good little minion, collect your pay and matching contribution to your 401, don't violate any of the "ethics" $hit (as if EM knows anything about ethics), and certainly don't fail a dr-g test. They are terrified to terminate an NRE for fear of getting their a$$e$ sued. You are in the drivers seat now......just play it cool and leave on your terms with a lump sum pension.

I’m in the same boat - NRE and NSI. I don’t have the ability to retire so I have to keep chugging along and hope that this insanity ends before I flip over to RE. Otherwise I’ll be looking for a new job at age 55. I got a good laugh from the new US-centric My Career website with its emphasis on a life time career. I can’t believe the corporation can print this cr-p.

I strongly suspect an incident from 3 years ago has put me in a bind.
A former Manager (2 level up) of mine climbed (crawled) another level up this year.

3 years ago, almost to the day, I did two bad things within the space of an hour.
First bad thing:
On hearing our Sr. Technical Professional describe our team's approach to meeting 50% growth by 2022 per Irving's plan,
I stated: "It sounds like Napoleon's March all over again".
My then team - being data image driven - chuckled on the whole. It's graphic.
The manager kinda glared at me. The STP went apoplectic in his coughy UK way.
That was bad thing number one.

Bad thing number 2: I took 2 shrimp appetizers on the first time around the table.
This was observed probably more closely than bad thing number one.

I'm retirement eligible and have a lawyer too.

if you're NRE and are just now realizing the ranking systems sucks, you prolly shouldve been let go a long time ago
