Lol. Ken is now on the board of directors for a company run by one of his former direct reports. Ken is doing just fine.

And btw - he didn’t really orchestrate anything. He was originally brought in to fix the WCG company image for profitability and eventual sale, but the WCG board of directors made the deal happen.

Ken found out on Christmas Eve prior to the announcement (maybe New Year’s Eve…can’t recall now) and ended up having an emergency call with his directs to let them
know.

Ken’s run out the clock contract is more than you will make in a lifetime. So I’m sure the compensation he received for orchestrating the sale softens any blow to his ego

This! "Hey Ken, still think you did the right thing in engineering the sale of WellCare?"

I often think about this too.

@1wjs+1cbhJz2K Medicare--MFN got rid of Mike Polen who came up through the WellCare ranks with another WellCare guy Rich Fisher who was the CFO. I read about that 'office of the President' and it's a Centene guy plus a woman who came from Optum Ventures, their investment arm, to presumably whip the dog's breakfast of non-plan services into some semblance of a structure, ha ha. If you didn't think the investors didn't pressure MFN into doing this, I have a bridge over the Hudson to sell you.
Ken Burdick stayed 13 months to play out his contract, finding out undoubtedly that he had no chance to succeed MFN. Hey Ken, still think you did the right thing in engineering the sale of WellCare?

There are definitely more cuts coming and they will continue.

There’s something brewing. They created the new “office of the president” that includes MFN and two other executives.

Now they’ve put a finance guy in charge of Medicare. Something…or some “things” are for sale or about to be outsourced at Centene. The jobs come first to make the bottom line look better.
