I'm thinking of joining and the only thing that matters to me is that I know I won't be laid off out of the blue or fired without cause. I can deal with a heavy workload, I am flexible when it comes to scheduling and I can get along with the worst of them. I just don't want to have to worry about my job every single day like I currently do at JCP.

Honestly job security strongly depends on job title assistant managers have the worst job security ever you can be pushed out at anytime with little notice due to cuts every other position seems decently safe to where even if it is deleted they could rotate u in some where else
Come to work everyday, do your job 100% and you will have NO problems. Call out and be a cr---y associate and you WILL have problems.
Rarely have I seen anyone's job eliminated without them being able to get something else. You might end up a cart pusher or work in the cafe for awhile, but it'll hold you there until a different job opens up in the store. At least that's the way it has always worked at my club.
If you are a hard worker with a flexible schedule Sam's has fine job security. Even if they eliminate your job they will find you another one.
Let's see how you handle cruel, mean managers. If you are older, get ready to be suffer from age discrimination. We have a manager who is awful and should be fired for her mean remarks to older associates. I would love to be a fly on the wall when she gets old.
Every man for himself unless you are part of the affirmative action crowd. Then you're safe.
Run the other way they will run you into the ground and throw you away like a piece of trash don't do it.
