Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Common sense

I find it hilarious, reading comments like “the company doesn’t care about us”, or “leadership is so d-mb”. Every time someone doesn’t get their way they get bu-t hurt. You get paid bi-weekly that’s all that is owed to you. Loyalty has never existed and never should. The problem is employees think they have rights, the only right you have is to accept the job or not. Stop complaining you pa----s and leave if your not happy. That is all.

Yes it is old school, when companies honored contracts, grew a business, treated their employees with respect and in turn had a quality product do to the employees being proud to work there.

Now do whatever you can sell assets, layoff employees, misrepresent numbers, renege on contracts, stall in court, make that quarter, make that plan for the year, get out of it in 5 years when there is no more blood left to bleed, collect the Golden Parachute and the cheap stock options that you flip for your Bonus payments.

You sign a Employment Contract when you get hired, you know Contract, binding Document for you and the Company, Yes I know many times the Company chooses to ignore the Binding Contract from the Employee standpoint, but they sure as he-l want to enforce the Cooperate side and take away aspect you hired in under in that Contract, They promised a wage to you, Benefits and other items, now Unions have or were there to help make sure they the Cooperation did not back out of those Contractual promises, the Management, well I have seen them get bent over more then once, have their Pension and 401 K taken away or submarined, asked to Flay and demoralize their reports even at risk to their own health due to stress. Many left and refused to abuse their Reports, many more stayed and did the head bob hoping it would get better but you could see the toll taken.

The contract is a two way street that many times the Cooperation wants to make one lane and one direction.

VERY IGNORANT post hiding behind anonymity. Our CEO came in with one mission, to dismantle the phone company and strong arm patrons into abandoning traditional telco products that met their needs and budgets. Bigger isn't always better especially when the delivery is reliant on a company like Lumen who's leadership is not interested in delivering, just satisfying wall street in the short term at the expense of the long term.

Actually they promise more than just a paycheck. When hired they sold you on benefits such health, 401k and retirement. All of which they take away over the years.

Meanwhile, the stock is down 10%. Brilliantly played by your fearless leader who doesn’t care about you either! Duh!
