From everything said during townhall, I didn’t even understand what Allstate intends to do to keep people from continuing to flee this company?

There was a town hall?

@1huh+1cYxAexu. Perfect description-explanation of the issues, this organization has never been able to shake free from the Sears-Roebuck mentality. Outdated poorly implemented technology and process with no thought of the side effects. Throwing darts at the problem to make management look like they are doing something constructive. Everyone just trying to Cover Their A$$.
If they cared about employee retention, would they have laid so many people of last year? C'mon now
It's obvious it's not on Wilson's radar, as he had to wrap his head around the question and realize it was regarding retention of employees and not customers. Aside from actually caring about the employees and morale, high turnover is extremely costly and doesn't really align with the cost saving measures of TG, so you'd think that would be reason enough for it to be on his and other leaders' radars. Anyway, Tommy blamed COVID and increased minimum wages, and something about still being able to hire people. I can't believe they actually picked those questions, so kudos to that blond woman who had the nerve to ask them during a live meeting.
The economy has been upended by the pandemic, but that's not what is wrong with Allstate. And every major corporation will always be able to hire people, as long as people need jobs, but we're not keeping the people we hire. I'm in legal and we can't seem to keep anyone longer than 1-3 years, and some don't even make it that long. IMHO here's what's wrong:
- Never ending process changes, and the changes are not thought out well, rolled out well, and often conflict with other processes already in place
- Never ending technology changes
- Poor training/poorly organized and outdated job aids
- Terrible communication/lack of coordination between departments
- Unreasonable and unevenly distributed workload (high performers always picking up the slack while others skate by doing the bare minimum or less)
- Poor work/life balance
- Lack of accountability (I've never worked somewhere where you can be as bad at your job as you're allowed to be at Allstate or get away with some of the sh-t that people pull at Allstate)
- Constantly changing goals/lack of direction
And holding up Michael Scott as a role model for us just about sums up all that is wrong with this company. All the things that made him a hilarious TV character also made him a terrible boss. That woman that was going on and on about The Office...that show either completely went over her head or she was trolling us at an epic level.
A BS mandate on a BS vaccine does not mean anyone cares.
You got it! Please leave ASAP so we can staff your job in India.
They care enough to make sure everyone in an office and maybe their homes is vaccinated.
They don't care. It's almost like the goal is to get as many as they can to quit...
