Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Good Ole boys network

I guess this is the place to call out how incompetent this company really is. Instead of it being a job you go in do your job and get rewarded for doing so it has turn into doggy dog world. Snitch on your co worker to get points. Managers that shouldn't be managers because they lack any common sense. It's almost like they want you to do bad so you can get the sh---y's performance review at the end of the year so the top can feast. When you create a culture where leadership is only looking out for their own performance reviews at the will of the workers and now I get why people don't care. I come in and do what is expected and exceed some of those expectations but for what a that a boy. Leadership pushes for you to give the lowest performance reviews as a manager. So if you have a team 20 maybe 1 will get a 5 if they are luck and the rest 4 and below to meet their metrics. When they preach how good the company is doing that doesn't reflect to you or I. It simply reflects how well leadership is doing as far as their bonuses let's be real. Keep drinking the Kool Aid because there is no flavor to it. The more I understand their philosophy on how they treat the herd the more I choose not to care because at the end of the day it is what it is. The more I see leadership conduct how they care segments the more I want to pu-e at their hypocrisy as they simply don't care. It's a numbers game through and through. Do as I say not as I do.

Yeah. When you have TMs in systems/digital getting promoted easily for implementing creepy third party systems and papa with HR and FuWAD and the local “vendors” call educated and trained people with real world experience the slower on the team for doing junior high work he never even knows how to do amd does not even understand what is being implemented - Him (TM) calling folks aren’t smart enough to be in call enters.

You know it’s a game show and choreographed show in ET. Sickening really. Charmed babies getting ahead. Friends and family. Yuck

By the way, if it's your wife, mother, sister, daughter or niece, why are you complaining? Any honest person knows what group has most benefited from affirmative action. Oh and people love to ignore the good ole boys network which is alive and well.

Speaking of good old boys and girls at work one director was bragging about how many calls she got during the pandemic last year to check up on her, 15 or 16 I think she said, like it was a status symbol. I think they called because they think she’s losing it and they were checking up on her but in her mind that’s a status symbol

Good old boys can refer to gals too. Same groups of nepotism and buddies

Being an employee at Farm since vivify is like going to high school and being brainwashed and “managed” by inexperienced children show offs every single day.

Your being trained to comply with lies and what is wrong.

Lotsa money rolling around to create the show and prove their worthy. Sickening mind game

It’s not competiveness unfortunately. It’s using policyholders and employees for leaders to get their glory, image and big pay and bonus.

True technocratic do gooder image. $$$

The good old boys network may still be at the very top but the percentage of women and minorities in first-line through claim manager easily outstrips "white males" at this point. My TM, SM and CM are all women, then we get to our VPO who is a "white male". However, he is being replaced by an AA Woman as they do a change up in org structure.

Yep……13% of the population is about 40% of mgt……tired of hearing about unfairness in that arena….

Not sure where everyone works but every person in my leadership chain is a women? I wish there were some boys, good or just plain average! And agree with previous post management is not incentivized to give out low performance ratings they get an allocated budget and when it is gone it is gone. No question there is kool aid consumption but the OP is drinking the hard stuff.

Until SF deals with the nepotism and structure of leadership and whose getting a head (that can’t tie their own shoes) it will never change. Even ET and systems is a ridiculous game show. A shame

In my area 70%-80% of my leadership is either women or minorities. A couple of the white guys are g-y..... Not real sure what area you people work in or what company you work for.... Management hasn't had performance review in 2 years and just get a percentage. No incentive at all for leaders to give bad ratings as the amount of money assigned to each area is a set amount and assigned by corporate..... Hate to be rude but OP has absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

Definitely not a good ole boys network in my area. The leadership is almost exclusively women

Leadership and employees are bonused the same way, OP. Your bonus was 140% of target last year. Managements tracks about the same as non-management employees, except they are held to tougher metrics, like expenses, customer sat scores and employee morale.

Also, managers don’t get performance reviews. That stopped a few years ago. However, managers definitely get put on perf management.

It has always been that way. Be assured, they can't keep they're secret forever. They hide behind their lawyers.
