RB was hired eons ago because his dad played golf with the pre Reuters CFO who retired shortly after the acq.
Not much of a personality, but he was connected. Hung around corporate in Stamford then went off to Texas to make northeast money out on the plains, while matter-of-factly informing any prospective transfers that they would face a downward cost of living adjustment.
I heard he and RP had matching porsches, which I thought was cute.
