Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How much easier is it to find a job when you have a job?

Worst of all is I’m not inquiring about layoffs because I’m worried I might be cut, but because every day I increasingly want to be laid off. Honestly, the reason is that I don't want to make it easier for this company and leave without a package. Others say it’s not wise because it’s much easier to find a job while you already have a job, but I know many examples of people who were laid off and found a good new opportunity much faster than those who are exploring options while still employed.

I noticed it is harder to get an offer if you are still employed. Maybe recruiters are afraid that their offer is not good enough and will be rejected, so they are not wasting your and their time.

Just start applying and go through the process. If you get an offer or not, you know where your value is in the marketplace.
