Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Everything that's wrong with DXC

I was reading reviews on Glassdoor and I ran into this gem:

"I was required to layoff team members by the dozens over a six month period, with no understandable criteria for choosing. It was so inconsistent and I had no control over choosing despite knowing my team members well, so much so that employees with excellent records were let go while those with performance and productivity problems were retained."

And there you have it. Everything that's wrong with this place in one convenient paragraph.

On more than one occasion, I was being considered for WFR, whilst also working out which members of my team I should select for WFR.

It's not surprising that I left - DXC was easily the most toxic environment I've ever worked in.

When I was working there, there was an initiative to improve the Glassdoor ranking by "encouraging" L4 and above to write positive reviews. We even hired Glassdoor to show us how to best do that and raise our score.

DXC has no differentiator in the market, no competitive advantage other than cost. DXC long ago eliminated anyone who was involved in differentiating DXC, or setting any standards for quality in the market. In the end DXC is a large staffing organization with access to only the people who lack the skills to be employed at better firms, or people who have been there so long that it is still beneficial to hold on, for whatever reason. DXC has been shrinking in market share for over 10 straight years with no sign of improvement. Mike and his team will continue to spin it for the market, and structure it so they can skim off unreasonably high compensation packages off the backs of employees and customers.

I experienced on multiple occasions none of our low cost overseas personnel has any idea of what they are doing (-they simply execute what you tell them to do; no questions asked-), they never ever grasp the entire process.

Also plenty of dubious positive reviews - many from low cost centres like India posting false and inflated positive reviews of this awful company
