I’m curious of the protocol for leaving for a competitor. I have heard you’re “walked out” immediately but with the new remote work and Allstate’s deportation for employees I’m curious if you’d be allowed to work your last two weeks. Any insight?

I work in HR, you are not required to tell them. If mgmt tells you that you are required to let them know what company, they are lying..
I gave my 2 weeks in June. I left to work with a large independent agency, not a direct competitor, in a marketing type role. My online access was cut off approximately 4 hours later, after which I received a text message from my manager that it would not be necessary for me to complete my two weeks. The next day, a Saturday, I had a FedEx box to return my laptop.
If you inform the company that you are going to another insurance company or a financial institution that has an insurance sector you are let go on the spot and not allowed a two week notice. Also if you worked at Allstate, leave to work for a competitor, and then try to come back to Allstate you will not be rehireable.
The only time you are walked out of the building is if you threaten someone
If you quit you work your 2 weeks no issues
Tell them that you are going to Tibet to golf with the Dalai Lama. Gunga galunga.
What ever you do, do not come to State Farm!!! He-l ho-e! It may not be as bad as Allstate but it is very close and getting worse. I'm a 26 year employee and pray for a package every day. SF just brought in a guy from AT&T to lead our new "call centers"...
Our CEO jizzed his pants when he saw these people background and hired him!

Tell them you’re going back to college
I went to progressive 2 months ago.. I didn’t tell them where I went, because I needed the 2 weeks of pay.
Otherwise they don’t let you work them.
Don't say where your going because you will immediately be terminated. You don't have to give any reason for leaving. If you want to say the last day of the two weeks fine, but Allstate doesn't like you to go to the competition
When I quit, no one asked me where I was going so I still worked my full two weeks.
“walked out” immediately - you are correct. But You do not have to disclose your new place :)
Immediate termination. Best thing you can do is not mention it until you are ready to leave.
