I see that some are even glad that NS is now having a hard time finding new employees and it sounds like they got what they deserved after years of behaving very badly towards employees who were much more professional and much more loyal to this company. Yes, it really sounds like karma to me. However, one should not be mistaken, those at the top will easily get through this while the ordinary employees will suffer the most once again. For me, an ordinary employee, it's not good if NS fails to hire someone who is really capable because currently instead of doing a job for one person, I'm doing work for two people.

Exactly! It’s no longer worth the bull….
Well I have been here for several years. I am downright burned out. I am tired of using vacation days for sick days. Then they don't give you many to start with and it takes forever to get them. Then they never bargain in good faith at contract time. The railroad has the unions by the ba--s and they know the government has their back. I'm ready to take my education and skills they taught me elsewhere. I have been looking, I just need to decide what state I want to go to. It's not the same railroad as when I started. I miss those old heads.
I would say about Karma is the RR seems immune to it. No matter how bad they fail the people at top.walk away with paydays and bring the net group of crooks in. Then it's ton big to fail so they get bailout by govt or bought by another group of crooks. Only ones who get punished are the workers!
Norfolk southern was once a good company. Now days, they are pathetic....Fu-k this company!!
You are right, the id--ts at top have golden parachutes and backstabbed their way to where they are now. They are the epitome of capitalist success- all at expense of others. Its dog eat dog and they do not care. It's us little people that suffer. But still, I would never want to live in a Socalist society no matter what!
I suggest you get into ANYTHING else besides the railroad. You’ll never work for a company that wants you so bad and then wants to fire you so bad.
Suck it up butter cup
Just wondering, if you have the work ethic and willing to be gone, is it worth taking the chance? I applied a few years ago but didn't make the jump. It is time for me to get out of medical field and get into something else. I'm use to being gone and working crazy hours. Thanks to military, ems/fire and solar world. Just trying to make sure I'm not going into a dead end. Thanks.
The Railroad, Sad; now it is going to be "Another job that Americans just will not do!!!"
That won’t change. The current generations looking for work won’t go for the screwed up shifts, days off, rules, ect of the railroad for the amount of money they pay. Way too many better options out there. Best they can hope for is to hire the mass flow of illegals, and refugees pouring in. Best of luck.
